Glasgow High School(GHS), located in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, is one of the three traditional public high schools in Christina School District. GHS serves portions of Glasgow, Bear, Newark, and Wilmington.


GHS, opened in fall 1973, was built to accommodate more than 2,000 students and to reduce strain on the two other schools in the district.

Student life


Like other schools in the Christina School District, GHS students can select from six pathways, which offer a more focused area of study: Digital Communications, NAF Academy of Business Information Management, K-12 Teacher Academy, NAF Academy of Finance, New Marking, and the Advanced Academic Program: The Early College Academy.

Clubs and activities

GHS has a number of active student organizations, including: Air Force JROTC, Business Professionals of America, color guard, DECA, drama club, Key Club, National Honor Society, Students in Action/Jefferson Awards, Women Empowered, and yearbook. Music options include: chorus, drumline, jazz ensemble, marching band, and steel band/percussion ensemble.


GHS is part of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Blue Hen Conference (Division II). The Glasgow Dragons play the following sports: football, cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, soccer, unified flag football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, track, unified basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and track and field.
